Mr. Trond Ellefsen is a Norwegian citizen and an engineer by education. Before relocating to the US in 2011, he served 20 years in multiple leadership positions in Norsk Hydro and Statoil.
He spent five years as a CIO for Statoil North America and then two years as Special Advisor on Digital Strategy. Not following a normal career pattern, Mr. Ellefsen resigned from Statoil in 2017 to become the CEO of the startup tech company Invatare.
He is serving on the advisory board of Rice University Brown School of Engineering and several committees for data science and AI, and is a highly requested keynote speaker at international large technology events.
While all competitors and most O&G operators are chasing incremental improvements within the boundaries of existing legacy technology, Invatare have a much more progressive vision and approach.
